PART-TIME/HOURLY Instructor ANNOUNCEMENT

Social Impact Technology & Engineering (SITE) a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Kansas City, Missouri is announcing one to three part-time/hourly Instructor(s) position openings! The Instructor(s) will lead the STEM Economy, Education Nurtured, Program (SEEN) Review of applications will begin in November 2019 and continue until selections are made.  Position start date will be January 2020.

SITE is especially interested in candidates whose work has a specific focus utilizing Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) process for leading our SEEN program. The SEEN program by design is to expand access and increase equity among the individuals it will seek to attract. That population includes underserved and underrepresented individuals, e.g. women, racial/ethnic minorities, military veterans/personnel and individuals with architecture, engineering or construction (AEC) backgrounds seeking to up-skill or shift their career pathway.

Founded in 2014, SITE’s mission is to create and implement opportunities that: 1) meet the current and future STEM workforce development and career pathway needs of Kansas City area employers and; 2) eliminate education, social, and geographic barriers impeding underserved communities, from attaining meaningful employment in the region.

In its first five years of existence, SITE has achieved enviable success in addressing both an industry and community need of the Kansas City metropolitan area in the creation of STEM career pathways to employment. At this juncture, the leadership of SITE is seeking to assess and develop its current assets in pursuit of significant growth in the next five years.

REGIONAL SETTING

The Kansas City region is home to one of the largest concentrations of architecture and engineering firms in the nation. SEEN classes will be taught on-site at the campus - 3210 Michigan Ave. Kansas City, Missouri 64132, Tuesdays – Thursdays (evenings) 6:00 pm – 9:45 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am – 1:00 pm weekly.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Associates degree or higher in architecture, engineering, or construction field is required with construction or construction management degrees preferred. Prior teaching is highly desirable. A minimum of 3-5 years AEC industry or a related field is essential, as is proficiency with CAD and BIM.  In filling this position, we seek leadership qualifications and skills needed to work towards the continued growth of our program.

COMPENSATION

SITE offers part-time Instructors a competitive compensation with a range between $31 - $35 per hour (est. 15-16 hours per week) over 50 weeks per year.
